Donabate and Portrane have established a new group to support and promote positive mental health within the community. This group is called “Donabate and Portrane Mental Health.” They will have their official launch on Sunday, 21st June at 11.45am in St Patrick’s Hall in Donabate.
“Donabate and Portrane have a proud and long tradition in the area of mental health through its association with St. Ita’s and the community mental health services. Mental health continues to be one of the most challenging issues facing our community today, with mental health affecting one in four people,” explained chairperson, Fr Pat Reilly.
“As a group, we would like to promote positive mental health in the community through various strategies to create an awareness and understanding that ‘it is okay not to feel okay’. The official launch of Donabate and Portrane Mental Health coincides with Mental Health Ireland Day on the 21st June,’” he continued.
“On behalf of Donabate and Portrane Mental Health, we would like to invite those interested to attend our official launch which will include mental health information sessions, fun activities, tea, cake, music and craic. All are welcome.
